SaskInteractive represents our emerging industry to policy makers, educators and consumersrs.
Currently we are working with the federal and provincial governments to grow a gaming industry in the Province.
Based on this goal, SaskInteractive hosts an annual Summit in which representatives from world class and leading edge players make presentations on developments and trends in interactive media. Summit participants hear about diverse and exciting initiatives, connect with those who can help to access opportunities, and learn how to realize success in a growing industry. The Summit facilitates connections between Canadian and international companies, and attracts interactive media industry producers and leaders in progressive businesses, education, health care and government.
Other activities include:
- Travelling to and representing Saskatchewan companies at international conferences
- Connecting with like-minded organizations
- Pursuing potential for joint venture projects
SaskInteractive representatives were directly involved with government and related industry associations during the formation and announcement of the Saskatchewan Employment Tax Credit (SETC). This tax credit applies directly to multimedia production in Saskatchewan. We are continuing to work with government to address the areas of SETC which will have a dramatic impact on our industry.
SaskInteractive representatives have been given the opportunity to offer guidance to our local educational institutions in the development of the programs which will deliver the most valuable interactive media skills. We want to provide Saskatchewan talent with the programs they need, and foster an industry with the health and vigor to keep that talent in Saskatchewan.
