BOTTING STEPS DOWN AS ES CEO TO FOCUS ON INVESTMENT ATTRACTION

Dale Botting is stepping down from his position as CEO of Enterprise Saskatchewan to take on a new role concentrating on investment attraction for the new economic development agency. Botting was originally appointed Deputy Minister of the former Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation in November 2007 to lead “the design-build phase” of Enterprise Saskatchewan. The new ES Board later appointed Mr. Botting as its founding CEO when it was officially formed on July 29, 2008.

"I extend my sincere appreciation to Dale for his dedicated service to Enterprise Saskatchewan and the provincial government," Minister of Enterprise Saskatchewan Ken Cheveldayoff said. "His consummate work ethic and business skills assisted in maintaining the positive and growing economic development climate in Saskatchewan.”

Since the establishment of Enterprise Saskatchewan just over a year and half ago, Botting has played an instrumental role in assisting the Board make over 50 recommendations to the provincial government. He also lead the restructuring and transfer of staff from several previous Ministries into the new agency; as well as the creation of grass roots advisory sector teams and strategic issues councils to identify various barriers to growth and new economic opportunities. Added highlights in the last 18 months include the rapid consolidation and roll out of a new system of larger and more integrated Enterprise Regions.

“The successful transformation of the province’s economic development mandate into one that embraces input from business, industry and community leaders is largely complete," Botting said. "I feel good about what we've accomplished, and it’s time to resume my past business practice as a global business attraction specialist."

"Dale is well known among local and international business leaders", Enterprise Saskatchewan Board Deputy Chair Gavin Semple said. "His continued participation as a consultant to ES will greatly benefit the Board, and I look forward to our ongoing relationship. I also wish Dale every success in his new business endeavour.”

Starting April 1st under a six-month, renewable contract to Enterprise Saskatchewan, Botting will oversee the completion of several investment attraction projects and will continue to advise the provincial government on issues ranging from innovative partnerships to competitive intelligence.

The Board will meet before the end of the month to determine an interim CEO and a process to select a permanent replacement.
