Game Developers Conference 2006
GDC and its Advisory Board have selected the proposal put forward by POST “The Axis of Gaming - Canada, U.K. and Australia”, among close to 1,000 entries received to be presented at the 2006 conference, which will be held March 20th through the 24th at the San Jose Convention Center. Represented by a speaker for GDC 2006, POST along with partner Consulates from Australia and the UK will be part of a distinct group of industry experts selected to present and share ideas and knowledge with peers in the gaming industry.
Canada will be represented by Lynda Brown, Executive Director for New Media BC.
To complete the Canadian panel we are looking for a CDN executive from a game developer in Canada who can speak to their recent experience as a game developer. Ideally this executive or company representative can speak to experience within the last 5 years. This could either be M&A activity, expansion or establishment of a new presence in Canada. We are considering companies like Electronic Arts, who has a multi - regional presence, Disney and THQ as well as Bioware, and others. Grateful for your specific suggestions regarding appropriate speakers.
The panel of executives will be moderated by a recognized local personality in the gaming and digital entertainment sector space.
Extensive Exposure
Canada, along with Australia and the U.K. will be featured on the Game Developers web site and in the conference program, which will be seen by thousands of game development professionals. Over one million readers of various publications will see GDC advertisements and 400,000 pieces of direct mail will be sent to game developers. GDC also mails regular press releases to 1,500 key contacts thereby increasing the interest in the conference and the presentation.
