Showcase 2005: 2 New Workshops added to make 17

Workin’ on the Docs, a cross-section of documentary producers and a local broadcaster discuss the steps to take to bring your documentary to the small screen. Using a panel format, each participant will provide insight into their process for turning an idea into a finished product, some of the challenges along the way, and thoughts on how to meet such challenges. Documentary series and one-off productions will be discussed, and the audience will be given the opportunity to ask questions of the panel.



Trends in Digital Media, an educator, a local producer, a web designer and a union organizer will bring their unique perspectives on trends in digital media. The discussion will focus on two areas of interest - Distribution and Marketing.

Call for Applications: SaskFilm’s Writer in Residence Program
This year, the Call for Applications is targeted to dramatic television writers, with special consideration given for situation comedies (sitcoms). Please submit your application and all supporting materials to the SaskFilm offices by Friday, November 25 at 5:00pm. SNMDA and CI@IC will Meet with Telefilm and Department of Canadian Heritage

SNMDA, along with CI@IC (Canadian Interactive Alliance) will be meeting with TeleFilm Canada and the Department of Canadian Heritage to discuss many topics. On the agenda are discussions about: building new media capacity, brining focus to the Telefilm Sectoral Awareness program, new media markets and festivals, professional development initiatives, the TeleFilm grant
