INFORMATION WEBCAST Nov. 16
At 6:15 p.m. November 16, 2006 in Toronto, Telefilm Canada will hold an information session on their recently launched Great Canadian Video Game Competition. This session is being presented in conjunction with the New Media Business Alliance (NMBA), the Ontario trade association for interactive digital content producers.

This competition is a new opportunity for Canada’s top, emerging video-game developers to vie for up to $2 million in financing and invaluable industry mentorship. Both Telefilm Canada and NMBA are pleased to announce that they have arranged to make the information available to your members via a webcast.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET November 16, 2006, you can access a recording of the information session via NMBA’s website at:
http://www.nmba.ca/telefilmcompetition.html, where they will be able to attain all the necessary details about how they can get involved in the competition. From this website, you will be able to choose to download a QuickTime version, stream a Flash version, or access the recording on Video.ca.

The Competition is encouraging eligible game development companies to register at www.telefilm.gc.ca/game by December 15, 2006.

The third Montreal International Game Summit, the annual gathering of gaming industry professionals which was held on November 8 and 9, 2006, was a resounding success. Exceeding the organizers’ expectations, the MIGS attracted more than 900 participants from Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe, in addition to reuniting some 70 speakers and just as many journalists from North America, Europe and Asia. Since the official launch of the 2006 Montreal International Game Summit, more than 86,000 visitors viewed the MIGS website.

ITU in Hong Kong
The work of a number of Saskatchewan interactive companies will also be featured in Hong Kong when Industry Canada staffs a trade show booth in early December at the ITU. They will be presenting a multimedia presentation that highlights our industry, among other Saskatchewan industries. We are making a difference!
