Douglas Luciuk is the co-founder and director of the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon (RAIS), where he helps lead programs in Game Art & Design and 3D Animation that directly feed into Saskatchewan’s game development sector. He is also an independent filmmaker whose recent feature, Welcome to Kittytown, has screened and won awards at festivals internationally. Douglas joined the SaskInteractive board for one reason, to help push Saskatchewan toward a stronger, more sustainable game development industry. He is focused on advocating for stronger support, better funding pathways, and real opportunities that allow local studios and emerging developers to build sustainable companies without having to leave the province. His goal is simple: keep Saskatchewan talent in Saskatchewan and help the game development sector grow into a serious creative and economic force in the province.
